Jeffrey A. Stouffer

January 31, 1960 — December 18, 2021

Jeffrey A. Stouffer, 61, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at his residence. The son of David and the late Dorcasanne (Woodward) Stouffer, he was born on January 31, 1960 in Harrisburg.

A graduate of Northern High School, Class of 1978, Jeff and his high school sweetheart, Deanna, set out to work hard and raise a family; this was the beginning of their 45 years together. He was a truck driver with Ward Trucking, Camp Hill, and aside from dealing automotive parts for a few years, he spent the rest of his career in sales with Shearer Locksmith, Harrisburg, where he was currently employed. He was happiest with a fishing rod in-hand, whether it was in his own pond or a Memorial Day weekend on the Chippewa Bay. He was truly a pinball wizard, a passion he shared with his brothers from an early age, and his patriotism and love for his country led him to supporting local veterans in any way he could. Of course, it was only fitting that he rooted for “America’s Team” – The Dallas Cowboys.

Every fall, the entire family would make their annual trip to Ocean City, MD, and without question, Jeff was always the center of attention. He was a rule bender, a button-pusher, and someone who could always get you to smile. His sense of humor was one of a kind, and he was always even-keeled, even in difficult situations. Without a doubt, he was the “rock” for his wife and daughter. He taught his daughter how to fish, but when she began out-fishing him, he showed her a new trick: how to hold the fish closer in pictures to make it look bigger! Between the two of them, they would create hilarious memes, thanks to Jeff’s wit and Shannon’s tech savvy. He was fun, dependable, and someone impossible to replace. Although 61 years doesn’t feel like quite enough time, the impression Jeff left on those closest to him will remind them that there’s so much to celebrate.

Surviving Jeff is his wife of 33 years, Deanna (Pifer) Stouffer of Wellsville; daughter, Shannon Marie Stouffer of Wellsville; his father and step-mother, David and Cathy Stouffer of Mechanicsburg; brothers, David G. Stouffer Jr. (Cheri) of Duncannon, Wayne Stouffer (Sue) of Harrisburg, and Steven R. Stouffer (Trudy) of Lewisberry; many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Timothy D. Stouffer (Amy) of New Cumberland; mother-in-law, Barb Hollen (Ron) of Newville; and father-in-law, Dean Pifer (Kathi) of New Kingston; brothers-in-law, Steve, Mark and Scott; and countless extended family and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by Uncle Robert “Jack” Stouffer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 1-5PM at the Wellsville Fire Company, located at 95 Community Street, Wellsville, PA 17365.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jeff’s name to a worthy cause of your choice in support of our nation’s veterans.
