Jeffrey M. Askey, 50, of New Cumberland, left the world on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
Jeff was a lifelong barber, cutting hair at Trends-a-Head for over two decades and most recently taught at Chambersburg Barber School. He was a member of The American Legion in New Cumberland and the VFW, as well as being one half of the “Replay” duo. Jeff was married to his music.
Jeff was born in Camp Hill to the late Arthur L. Askey and Dorothy E. (Noel) Askey of New Cumberland.
In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his daughter Joei H. Askey (Stephen) of Lewisberry; sister Kathleen L. Fortna (Donald) of Dauphin; brothers, Randy (Donna) of Enola and David of New Cumberland; his favorite ex, Bambi, nieces Pamela (Steve),Karen (Jimmy), and Danielle, as well as three great nieces, two great nephews and countless friends, whom counted him as family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1303 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at the VFW Post 7415, 109 Third St. New Cumberland immediately following committal services at the cemetery.
