Joan M. Finnefrock, 90, of Camp Hill, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg.
She was a secretary at several businesses; Rolling Green Cemetery, State Farm and PA Medical Society were early on, but she would work for INA (which would become CIGNA) the longest, retiring in 1993. A member of the Rainbow Campers Club, she enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to various Outdoor World resorts on the East Coast. Once retired, her winters were spent in Florida, and a good mystery novel was all Joan needed to pass the time. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland since 1962, and also volunteered as a CCD teacher for many years.
Surviving Joan are her daughters, Donna J. Harrison of Mechanicsburg, Kathy A. Weltmer (Mick) of Middletown, Chris M. Cox (Dave) of Dillsburg, and Diane K. Sohomuch (Matt) of New Cumberland; three sisters, one brother, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Finnefrock; and a son, Donald J. Finnefrock; Timothy S. Miller, and a sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. A viewing will be held earlier that morning at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, from 9:30-10:30AM. Immediately following mass, Joan will be buried alongside her late husband in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, East Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Joan’s name to the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, HCP – Development Department, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
