John A. “Al” Brame, 78, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, died Monday, August 28, 2017, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Susquehanna Twp.
He retired as a tool maker with Berg Electronics/DuPont, New Cumberland, and served six years in the Army National Guard; a 1957 graduate of John Harris High School; a 25 year committee member with Boy Scouts of America, Troop 198, Etters; a member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church. John enjoyed spending time at his summer place along the Juniata River south of Newport. Born on December 26, 1938, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John E. and Ruth K. (Bressler) Brame. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Brame.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Charlotte K. (Patrick) Brame; a son and his wife, Michael A. and Carol D. Brame of York Haven; a daughter and her husband, Diane L. and Randy L. Briggs of New Bloomfield; a brother, Robert Brame of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Ashley, Patrick, Nathan and Sean.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Road, Etters, with the Rev. Dr. Deborah J. Heisley-Cato and the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Fishing Creek Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
Viewing will be held 6 – 8 PM Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, and 10 – 11 AM Thursday in the church.
