John Malcolm, 87, of Indian River Colony Club Melbourne Florida, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, peacefully at home.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts John was a graduate of Milton Academy, Milton Massachusetts, Bowdoin College, Brunswick Maine, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. John led a life of public service by retiring as a Colonel in the US Army and Head of Telecommunications for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He volunteered on local township boards, was a Past President of the Hampden Youth Baseball Association, and coached numerous youth baseball and basketball teams.
John was a member of Rockledge Presbyterian Church, Rockledge Florida, a member of the Brevard Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, and was a member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
John is survived by his sister, son and two granddaughters.
A burial service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 24th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania with a reception to follow at The Mill in Hershey, Hershey Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military.
