John C. “Jack” Brogan, 87, of New Cumberland, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 in his residence.
He was a retired, self-employed, consultant in structural engineering, responsible for designing well over five hundred million dollars in buildings and other miscellaneous construction projects in the Commonwealth and throughout the United States. Jack earned his BS in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1950 and has remained an avid Penn State football fan. Additionally, he was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Jack was born in Hazleton to the late Robert and Ida (Waldron) Brogan.
He is survived by his wife of more than 67 years, Philomena “Mena” (Pape) Brogan; his daughter Jacklyn Madsen of Mount Joy; his son Dr. Donald R. Brogan and wife Dr. Clara Tiburcio/Brogan of Collegeville; his brother Richard Brogan of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden, his Pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in Hazleton. There will be no viewing or visitation.
