John Louis Hueser, 94, of York Haven, PA, passed away March 8, 2025, in Mechanicsburg. He was born May 28, 1930, in St. Paul, MN to the late Joseph and Anna (Orzanac) Hueser.

John joined the United States Army on June 4, 1947, serving at Ft. Knox, KY; Tokyo, Japan; Camp Crawford, Sapporo, Japan; Ft. Campbell, KY; Korea; Ft. Bragg, NC; Ft. Devens, MA; Ft. Sill, OK; Ft. Carson, CO; Wertheim, Germany; Niagara Fall AFB, NY; Corpus Christi, NAS, TX; Vietnam, and Ft. Eustis, VA.

He served with GHQ, GD Co., 11th Airborne Div., Div. Recon, Platoon, Co. H, 2nd Bn., 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, Co, A, 127th Engineer Bn., Engineer Co., 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, Medical CO., 325th PIR, 82nd Airborne Div., Engineer Co., 187th Regimental Combat Team, Co. C, 8th Engineer Bn, 1st Calvary, Engineer Co., 45th Transportation Bn., 59th Transportation Co., Buffalo-Niagara Air Defense Command, Flat Top Project, 18th OTTER Co., 661st Transportation Co. and USA Transportation School.

He entered pilot school in May of 1956 and fixed wing school in 1960. He retired from active duty and was discharged as a CW-3 on June 30, 1967. He served the Department of the Army, as a Civilian Test Pilot at the New Cumberland Army Depot from 1967-1985. He also worked as the Director of Quality at NCAD. He retired for a second time with a total of 38 years and four months of government service. In addition to his devotion to his country, John loved motorcycles and airplanes, owning several motorcycles throughout his life and building two airplanes by hand in his backyard.

He is survived by his son, John D. (Linda) Hueser; a brother, Joseph Hueser; granddaughter, Sara May Hueser; and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley May (Mears) in 2012 and his sister, Dorothy Irestone.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, March 13 from 8:45 - 9:45 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home. There will be a motorcycle procession from the funeral home to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with full military honors. The procession will depart promptly at 10 AM, all veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts are encouraged to join in. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Dementia Society of America.
