John “Jack” Fisher Bennett, 92, of Camp Hill died Friday, July 20, 2018 at his home.
A WWII Army Veteran,he was a tail gunner. He fought in many places including Leyte, Philippines; Kwajalein Atoll; and Okinawa. He was wounded, sent home, and discharged in 1945. He retired as an inspector from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Harrisburg-Snyder Lodge No. 629 F&AM; Harrisburg Consistory; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Steelton Italian Club; and American Legion Post 1001, Susquehanna Twp. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.
He was born September 16, 1925 in Harrisburg to the late William Herman and Jennie (Miller) Bennett. He was preceded in death by his brother William and brother-in-law, Robert E. Saul.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jane (Saul)Bennett; two nephews, Keith K. Bennett of Santa Clarita, CA and Neil A. Bennett of Mira Mar Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Kathryn M. Tuckey of Camp Hill.
Viewing will be from 10am until Masonic Services at 10:30am Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Funeral services will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery.
