John Robert Crompton

John Robert Crompton, 81, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Philadelphia died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at The Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg.
An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired Investment Banker from the former Fidelity Bank of Philadelphia. He graduated from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and University of Virginia.
He was born July 8, 1934 in Philadelphia to the late Thomas Allen and Mary (Widdoes) Crompton. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law Stephen Lipovich and brother Thomas Crompton.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen M.; two daughters, Ruth Crompton Brown (Scott) and Carol Crompton Lipovich both of Columbus, OH; a son J. Andrew Crompton (Megan) of Mechanicsburg; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
