John Russel Lauver, Jr.

John Russel Lauver, Jr., 63, of Etters, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi, MI while visiting family.

John was a cashier at GIANT Foods, Old York Rd., New Cumberland and an attorney with degrees from Wharton School of Business (finance), University of Pennsylvania (economics), University of Michigan (doctorate in law) and Elizabethtown college (accounting). John formerly served as a legal aid to the PA State House of Representatives and drafted PA Vehicle Code 3709, the state litter law. Additionally, he was an Eagle Scout, a member of Pleasant Hills Christian Church, Harrisburg and later in life attended Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill.

John was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late John Russel and Betty Jane (Bowman) Lauver, Sr.

He is survived by his children, John R. Lauver, III of Glen Rock, PA and JoAnna R. Gonzalo of Howell, MI; his sister Lois Lauver of Harrisburg, PA; and six grandchildren, Tristan, Emmett and Dean Lauver and Gabriel, Michael and Daniel Gonzalo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 13, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with Pastor Bruce Chesney officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran - Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp., PA.
