John B. Starr, II

John B. Starr II, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on December 27, 2023.  He was born in Lemoyne, PA, on November 1, 1948.  His parents were the late John B. Starr and Mary L. Starr.  John was a 1967 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam and was a former fire chief of the Lemoyne Fire Dept.  John retired from the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot, where he worked for the Navy Ships Parts Control Center as Assistant Fire Chief.  John was a member of these organizations -   Veterans of Foreign Wars:  Lower Allen VFW Post 7530; American Legion; West Shore Sportsmen's Association; National Rifle Association; West Shore Historical Society; Fireman's Association of PA.

John is survived by two nieces:  Cherrie DeRentis (Rocco) of Chesapeake, VA, and Mari Mann (Rod) of Knotts, Island, NC.  He is also survived by a great-nephew, a great-niece, two great-great-nieces, and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp., with full military honors.
