Jon F. LaFaver, 81, of New Cumberland died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home.
Graduate of New Cumberland High School. Graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College in 1957 and received his juris doctor from New York University in 1960. Partner with Stone, LaFaver and Shekletski.
Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors (1991-94) and former secretary. Former director of Cambridge University Continuing Legal Education Program. Former president of Cumberland County Bar Association. Adjunct Professor of Dickinson School of Law (1990-2006).
Former member and president of the West Shore School Board, and Solicitor for New Cumberland Borough; Rotary International District Governor (1979-80).
Member of Lowther Manor Masonic Lodge, Harrisburg Consistory, and the Zembo Shrine.
Founding member of The Bumblers, former president of Chartier Club, member of the New Cumberland Public Library board after spearheading the Bicentennial Benjamin House Project.
He was born June 9, 1935 in Reading to the late James A. and Ida Jane (Fetherolf) LaFaver.
He is survived by his wife Janeen (Jan) Smith LaFaver; a daughter, Karen L. Galle (Todd) of New Cumberland; son, Mark J. LaFaver of Camp Hill; two grandchildren, Benjamin M. and Jillian G. Galle of New Cumberland; two cousins, Frederick Koch of Elizabethtown and David Koch of New Tripoli.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 until Memorial Services at 3pm Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.
