Joseph F. Martin, 85 of New Cumberland died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his home.

He was a retired Insurance Agent from Prudential Insurance Company, Camp Hill. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland and previously attended St. Catherine Catholic Church in Mt. Union with his wife.

He was born September 28th, 1936 in Harrisburg to the late Paul F. and Catherine E. (Seitz) Martin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Marie (Samois) Martin and brother, Robert Martin.

Joseph graduated from Catholic High School where he played football, baseball and basketball and was president of his Class. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He and his wife purchased a camp outside Mt. Union PA where many happy hours were filled with family on Raystown Lake, hiking through the mountains and the much anticipated Thanksgiving dinners with the ever growing family. Joseph was a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a Navy Reservist.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph C. Martin (Karen) of New Cumberland and William G. Martin (Connie) of Midlothian, VA; daughters, Deborah L. Mathias of Etters and Cathie R. Culver (Mark) of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren, and thirteen greatgrandchildren.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, March 31st at St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland. Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bishop McDevitt High School (McDevitt Fund), 1 Crusader Way, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
