Joseph E. Gill

Joseph E. Gill, 57, of Enola and formely of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in UPMC West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp.

He was a customer service representative with GIANT Foods, Valley Rd., Enola and was formerly a package handler with Fed Ex Ground, Lewisberry.  Joe was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and Harrisburg Area Community College.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Enola.

Joe enjoyed reading, listening to music, plants and gardening.  He was a huge SciFi fan, and he had a deep affection for animals, including his Chihuahua Tyler.  But more than anything, Joe loved his family.  All of his nieces and nephews were special to him, but there was a special place in his heart for his great-great nephew Coleson.

Joe was born in East Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland County, the son of the late John H. and Helen C. (Libhart) Gill, Sr.

He is survived by his siblings, Connie M. Ready (Walt) of Marysville and John H. Gill, Jr. (Sue) of Duncannon; niece Jennifer Anthony (Keith); nephews Dan Ready (Michelle) and Geoff Gill (Nicole); great-nephew Alex Anthony; great niece Kayla Lindsay (Collin); and great-great nephew Coleson Lindsay.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 225 Salt Rd. Enola, PA 17025.  A visitation with his family will be one half hour prior to Mass.
