MSgt. Joseph W. Ponchock, U.S. Army Retired of Mechanicsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
A Korean and Vietnam War Veteran, he received numerous campaign and service medals during his military career. After retiring from the Army, he went into printing as owner/operator of Unimail-Unigraphics in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the VFW Post 7530, American Legion Post 143 and a life member of the West Shore BPO Elks 2257.
Born May 1, 1936 in Spangler, PA to the late Joseph W. and Goldie Lillian (Russell) Ponchock, Sr. Preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Moody, he is survived by his wife, Janine Ponchock; two daughters, Patricia Woods, Brigitte Benedict; a son, Daniel Ponchock (Bridget); a brother, John Ponchock; a sister, Helen Ault; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10am until funeral services at 11am Monday, December 5 at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
