Josephine Ann Mehalko

Josephine Ann Mehalko, 83, of New Cumberland, formerly of Williamstown, died
Friday, January 4, 2019, at Carolyn’s House, Susquehanna Twp., a Service of Hospice of
Central PA.

She was a retired receptionist from Cedar Cliff High School, and had previously worked at the
US Navy Depot, Mechanicsburg. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New
Cumberland and St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, Harrisburg. She enjoyed her flower
gardens, music with her husband at the Forum, Hershey Theatre, American Music Theatre,
and Broadway Shows in NYC; old movies, sewing, and especially spending time with her
family.

She was born December 7, 1935 in Tower City to the late John and Ursula (Hirsch) Lucas. She
was also preceded in death by her brother Jack Lucas of Hershey.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Andrew J. Mehalko; son, Andrew D. (Kathleen) of
York Haven; two daughters, Christine M. Grossnickel (Joe) of Germantown, MD, and Dianne E.
Kirsch (Douglas) of Mechanicsburg; three brothers, Donald Lucas of Westminster, CO, Gary
Lucas of Olympia, WA, and David Lucas of Phoenix, AZ; and eight grandchildren, Dane, Riley,
and Haley Mehalko, Jared and Chase Grossnickel, and Bryce, Gavin, and Chance Kirsch.

Viewings will be from 5-7pm Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday at Parthemore Funeral
Home, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday at St.
Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Committal will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery.
