Judith Myers Kistler

Judith Myers Kistler, 76 of East Haven, CT, formerly of Dillsburg, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT.

She was a former English teacher and speech/communication (Forensic) director with Northern York County School District. She was alumni of Northern Potter High School, Grove City College, and Bowling Green State University (Toledo, OH). She was a member of Baughman United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. Her interests included attending theater performances, raising and showing her beloved Kerry Blue Terriers, and spending the last several years sharing the interests of her Connecticut grandchildren.

Mrs. Kistler was born in Coudersport, Potter County, PA to the late Samuel H. and Blanche (Walter) Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ned Fortenbaugh Kistler and two step-children, Gary S. Kistler and Marjorie “Joey” L.K. Shoemaker.

She is survived by her daughter Christina K. Purnell and husband Blake of East Haven, CT; step-children, Cherie L. Bowen and husband Ronald of Winder, GA, Ned F. “Bud” Kistler, Jr. of Camp Hill, and Kathleen M. Wynn and husband Ron of Killeen, TX; a step-daughter-in-law Sharon Kistler of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewings will be from 4-6 pm Monday and again from 10 - 11 am Tuesday, both in the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
