Julia T. Snyder

September 2, 1932 — October 3, 2022

Julia T. Snyder, 90, of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, and formerly of New Cumberland died Monday, October 3, 2022 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.


She was a retired Executive Secretary from PNC Bank. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland and its choir; Gray Lions, the Penn State fan club at Masonic Village; and Professional Secretaries International. In addition to Penn State she was a Phillies, Eagles, and Vegas Golden Knights fan. She loved to knit and made prayer shawls for the church and beanie hats for family and friends. She loved to attend the many activities and events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was able to do so as recently as September of this year. She loved music and attending concerts of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bingo, reading, playing games on the computer, and in her younger days, traveling with her husband and family.


She was born September 2, 1932 in Middleburg to the late James G. Thompson, Jr. and Julia (Kratzer) Benfer. She was the widow of LaMar D.L. “Don” Snyder.


She is survived by her daughter, Sheri L. Snyder of Dillsburg; son, Todd L. Snyder (Theresa “Terry”) of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Brandon J. Metz (Dawn) of Las Vegas, NV, Chelsea E. Scholl (Kevin) of Glen Gardner, NJ, Megan N. Seeger of New Cumberland, Heather N. Burger (Matthew) of Mechanicsburg, and Madison A. Snyder of Etters; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11 am at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 530 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA 17070 with lunch to follow. Private interment will be with her husband in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
