Keith J. E. Behm, 55, of New Cumberland, passed away far too soon, last Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Wellspan York Hospital. Son of the late Stanley E. and Nancy K. (Boucher) Behm, he was born on January 27, 1965 in Bad Axe, MI.
Keith lived all over the United States, especially in his younger days. He was born in Bad Axe, MI, and went on to grow up and attend grade school in Lake Orion, MI; his family would then move to Florida, where he would continue his education and graduate from Ft. Pierce Central High School. He entered the US Navy upon graduation, serving his nation for nearly a decade. After his service, he would go on to work in various fields as he traveled north, finally landing in Pennsylvania. He was currently employed in the Supply Chain Management industry at ES3 LLC, Strinestown, where he will leave behind many co-workers and friends. His passion, however, was for music. He was a guitarist in the band "Kings of Carlisle," where he and his singer/keyboardist bandmate, Russell Leedy, had been a staple in Central PA for almost thirty years. They had planned to release an album over the winter months, featuring both original works and classic covers. They would play at local bars and venues, one of which being his very own American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland. He was also a member of the New Cumberland VFW, Post 7415. He was a fantastic chef, and gave back to the community by volunteering to prepare Thanksgiving Dinner for those who dwell in the homeless tent villages found under multiple Harrisburg city bridges. This kind-hearted, sociable "Trekkie" will certainly be missed by those he's touched over the years, including his beloved dog, Sophia.
Keith leaves behind his children, Kathryn Behm of Campbelltown, and Jarred Behm of Camp Hill; his step-children, Brandon Gipe, Nikki Petrone and Tyler Bauserman; his sisters, Cheryl N. Sosnoski of Essexville, MI, and Nancy A. Williams of College Station, TX; father and mother-in-law, Ken and Virginia Brenneman of Mechanicsburg; sister-in-law, Linda Behm of Clare, MI; his aunt, Kathryn Ashbaugh of Royal Oak, MI; many nieces and nephews; and his great friend and bandmate, Russell Leedy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal E. Bauserman; and his brothers, Drew and Robert Behm.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Keith's final resting place will be among others who have served our nation in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the non-profit which was so near and dear to his heart, Mission of Mercy: Harrisburg BIC Church, 2217 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104. Your donation will help to offset the loss they've incurred, now that their resident chef is unable to lovingly serve those he cared for so deeply.
