Kenneth A. Nichols, 77, of Harrisburg, died peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2018, surrounded by family at his home.
He retired as a bookkeeper at the Superfresh Grocery Store, Etters, a graduate of East Pennsboro High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Born on December 31, 1940, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Morris A. and Evelyn E. (Moeslein) Nichols. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert A. and Morris A. "Nick", Jr.
Surviving are brothers and sisters, Patricia Walters (Leon), Nancy E. Keeler (Craig), Kathy D. Kaseman, Cynthia L. Kreitzer (David), Ted A. Nichols, Michael A. Nichols and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was a quiet and thoughtful man. He loved gardening, animals and supported the SPCA. He had a passion for sports and was thrilled when he won tickets to the 2007 World Series in Boston. One of his favorite places to travel to was Las Vegas. Family and friends will always remember Ken as someone that would make personal sacrifices to help others.
Adult friends and family will be greeted from 5:30 to 6PM, immediately followed by a service of celebration of Ken’s life and a light dinner on Saturday, July 14th at City House Bed and Breakfast, 915 N. Front St., Harrisburg. Please RSVP to kennicholscelebration@gmail.com .
