Kevin Michael Kummerlen, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on October 12, 2024, as a result of a tragic accident. Born on May 22, 1978, in Harrisburg, PA, Kevin grew up in Newberry Township and most recently lived in Lewisberry and Dauphin, PA, where he leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his family and many lifelong friends.
Kevin found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, camping, attending music festivals and hanging out with his numerous friends. He loved the exhilaration of watching dirt track races and spending time outdoors playing horseshoes with those he held dear. A proud graduate of Red Land High School, Class of 1997, Kevin dedicated over 25 years of his career as a maintenance worker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, showcasing his commitment and work ethic to all who knew him. Above all, Kevin's greatest accomplishment and joy was being a father and spending time with his son, Ethan.
Kevin is survived by his loving father, Paul Kummerlen; mother, Roberta Kummerlen; sister, Amy (Nathan) Dravk, his adored son, Ethan Kummerlen, his girlfriend, Dawn Wilson, and Ethan's mother, Nicole Zech. Also left to cherish his memory is his nephew, Jonathan Dravk; niece, Bethany Dravk; his best friend, Rod Jacobs, several aunts and uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends who will never forget his kind and genuine spirit. He was also an excellent father figure and role model to Dawn's young adult children, Tyler Clark, Hailey Clark and Trinity Rowles.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Calvary Chapel - Harrisburg/West Shore, 28 N Locust Point Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 from 10 AM - 11:30 AM with a service to follow immediately. Services will be officiated by Pastor Matt VanderVen and burial will take place at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Organization for Autism Research, 2111 Wilson Blvd., Ste. 401, Arlington, VA 22201. Services have been entrusted to Parthemore Funeral Home.
