Larry D. E. Shaffer, 68, of Fairview Twp., died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Hospice of Central PA Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Susquehanna Twp.
He was the owner/operator of Shaffer's Meats in the West Shore Farmer's Market; had previously served in the Army National Guard, 28th Division; served as a member on the Fairview Twp. Zoning Hearing Board; a 1964 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill and was also a member of Eureka-West Shore Lodge #302, F. & A.M, Mechanicsburg.
Born on February 1st, 1947, he was the son of the late Arthur L., Sr. and H. Joyce (Campbell) Shaffer.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Sandra L. Krater Shaffer; a daughter, Lynn T. Mickel (James) of New Cumberland; two sons, David J. Shaffer (Kymn) of New Cumberland and Jeremy S. Shaffer of Etters; four grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Seth, and Kaleb; a brother, Arthur L. Shaffer, II (Patricia) of Mechanicsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Fairview Bethel Church of God, 800 Old Forge Road, New Cumberland, with Pastor Dan Masshardt officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be held 5 – 7 PM Sunday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
