Larry G. Zeigler, 76, of Hampden Twp., Enola, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at his home.
He retired as a police officer for the borough of New Cumberland and following his retirement, was employed by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department for a total of 43 years.
Larry was a beloved Dare Officer and Officer Friendly during his career.
Born on Friday, March 30, 1945, in New Cumberland, he was the son of the late Jean (Young) Zeigler.
Surviving is his wife, Sharon (Smyers) Zeigler; daughters, Pamela J. McLaughlin of Kennesaw, GA, Sherre R. Pate (Tim) of Kennesaw, GA, Carolyn R. Adams of Kennesaw, GA, and Heather S. Green (Donnell) of Camp Hill; daughter, Joni Shenck of Harrisburg, and step-son, Jeff Shenck; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters, Saundra Flaynik of New Cumberland and Joanne Baney of Camp Hill; nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Piper.
Larry was a boat enthusiast and loved spending time on the Chesapeake Bay.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, (givenow.lls.org) or to Vested Interest in K9s (vik9s.org).
