Laura L. Burridge

April 7, 1957 — April 4, 2025

Enola, PA

Laura L. Burridge, 67, of Enola, PA, passed away on the morning of Friday, April 4, 2025, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, after bravely battling cancer. Born in Philadelphia on April 7, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Roland “Ron” and Patricia (Deeney) Mullis.

A 1975 graduate of Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Laura was independent and hardworking from a young age. She explored different career paths before finding her niche in banking, beginning at Hershey Bank and later working at Harris Savings (which became Waypoint), Sovereign Bank, First National Bank, and PNC. Ultimately, she returned to FNB, where she was still employed, specializing in private banking services. Though Laura loved her work, building strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike, her greatest joy was being a mother to Kenny and Dale.

She was present and supported her boys in all their endeavors, shuttling them wherever they needed to be, like Hershey Bears and Harrisburg Senators games, their own sports practices and games, or taking them to school because they missed the bus. Homemade meals were always on the table, whether it was her delicious corned-beef and cabbage or the dreaded liver and onions.

A Steelers fan through every era, from the “Steel Curtain” to the days of "the Bus," the Black and Gold were always in her heart, but if you knew Laura, you’d know her true love was NASCAR. A die-hard fan of the "Intimidator," she loved Dale Earnhardt (and later, Dale Jr.), catching as many races as possible in Dover and the Poconos. She even took part in the NASCAR Experience—though her kids would argue that every car ride with her felt like one!

Laura was a 25+ year member of the Palmyra Lions Club, having just become the club’s president last year. With the Lions Club, she routinely volunteered at the Fuzzy Few Carnival in Hummelstown and especially enjoyed working at the famous Rat Wheel. She dressed as the Wicked Witch at the club-sponsored haunted house, and she relished in being Mrs. Claus at the annual Santa House and Holiday Parade.

Escaping life was easiest at the beach. Locally, she enjoyed getaways to Rehoboth Beach, DE, but she could always make time to visit the white sand beaches of Sarasota, FL, where she also dreamt of retiring one day.

She had a passion for live music, especially rock and country. She even went as far as Las Vegas to rock out to live music with her son and daughter-in-law. She and her gang of trouble-makers would frequent the Hershey Winery, where they’d enjoy an evening of live music, wine, food, more wine, friendship, and maybe even another bottle of wine. The laughs and memories made were a constant when the gang got together. Annually, Laura would join her son and future daughter-in-law at the Fall Music Fest @ the Fogelman Farmstead, an event that aimed to raise money for wounded warriors of PA. Having come from a military family, the love she had for her sons was all that eclipsed the pride she had for the military and her country.

Laura worked tirelessly until just a month before she passed, stopping only when her health no longer allowed. She gave her all to everything she did, whether it was job-related, or being a mother, a friend, or a volunteer in the community. Laura served as an inspiring role model to her kids and to all those around her.

Known for her humor, she was full of life, kindness, extreme generosity, an unfathomable selflessness, and we can't forget her stubbornness. Laura was the first to lend a hand, whether covering for a co-worker or putting others before herself in any other facet of life. Her amazing soul will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Surviving Laura are her sons, Kenneth Donald Burridge II (Jenn Clemens) of Palmyra, and Dale Robert Burridge (Ruth Ann Burridge) of North Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Richard Mullis of Lancaster, SC; grandchildren, Miranda, Aliyah, and Liam; her former husband, Kenneth Donald Burridge; mother-in-law, Margaret “Margie” Bachman; sisters-in-law, Mary Nowlen and Linda Kortright; and a maltese/shih tzu granddog, Jax. She also leaves behind dear friends, including Laura Turns, Virginia “Ginny” Fessler, and Jo Garman, whose support, especially after her diagnosis this past August, was a true blessing.

Laura's Celebration of Life will be held from 2-7PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Hershey Italian Lodge, 128 Hillcrest Road, Hershey, PA 17033.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Laura’s memory may be made to either: The Palmyra Lions Club, PO Box 168, Palmyra, PA 17078, or Four Diamonds & Craig’s Crew, a cancer research fundraising effort she proudly supported.
