Laura (Nickell) Fishburn Griffith

Laura (Nickell) Fishburn Griffith, 91, formerly of Bronxville, NY, died Monday, April 21, 2014 in Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp., PA.
She was a volunteer with Planned Parenthood in Illinois and New York and was a member of Christ Church, Bronxville and its Altar Guild; the Junior League in Illinois; and the West Chester (NY) Children’s Association.
Laura was born in Yonkers, NY to the late H. Kennedy Nickell and the late Laura Yhornton Wood Nickell. Additionally, she was the widower of Junius R. Fishburn and Lewis S. Griffith.
She is survived by a son J. Blair Fishburn of Chevy Chase, MD; a daughter Ann Cary Orminski of Yakima, WA; two step sons, Scott Griffith of France and Chase Griffith of NY; a step daughter Lucy Griffith of SC; a brother H. Kennedy Nickell, Jr. of NC; and five grandchildren, C. Blair Palmer, Laura Lee Palmer, Bryan P.J. Fishburn, Kyle B. Fishburn and Meghan F. Fishburn.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Christ Church, 17 Sagamore Rd. Bronxville, NY 10708 with Father Michael Bird as Celebrant.
