Leah Marie Tanberg, 37, of Hummelstown, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. The daughter of Steve and Donna Tanberg, she was born on August 15, 1984 in Spring Lake Heights, NJ.
Leah was born and raised in Monmouth County, NJ, but would move with her family during her school years to Central PA. She attended Central Dauphin High School before earning her diploma at Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. Most recently, she was employed at Ruby Tuesday’s, Harrisburg, as a member of their kitchen staff. She loved her co-workers, and that love was reciprocated, making work a bright spot in her daily life.
She was a bubbly and caring individual, always conscious of those around her and their needs. Leah was a gifted artist, and she would attend HACC in an effort to cultivate her unique drawing style. She was strong-willed and tough, and nothing embodied this more than watching her powerfully cut through the water when swimming in her youth. She was a fun-loving and kind-hearted soul, and she found peace when hiking in Michaux Forest or tending to her garden. She went to PA Bible Teaching Fellowship growing up and would attend their summer youth camps. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was strengthened in recent years as she found renewed interest in studying the bible and promoting His good works. Leah loved her Lord, her parents, her sisters, and her cats and fish.
Surviving Leah are her parents, Steve and Donna Tanberg of Hummelstown; sisters, Nichole “Nikki” Speck (husband, George) of Hershey, and Sarah Tanberg of Hummelstown; eight nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.
