Lee Douglas Cunningham, 87, of Swatara Twp., Harrisburg, died Thursday, December 04, 2014, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
He retired as the Director of Communications for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission; a former employee of Bethlehem Steel Co, Steelton, and also Syntonic Technology Inc., Harrisburg; a 1946 graduate of Duncannon High School, Wharton School of Accounting, Central Radio and Television of Kansas City and the American Management and Business Management of New York; a World War II Veteran having served in the Navy; a charter member of the former Christ United Methodist Church of Rutherford Heights; IBTTA; VFW Post 1213, Rutherford; Lion's Club of Rutherford Heights. Born on January 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Bartow J. and Bertha V. (Keckly) Cunningham.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Jean (Skelding) Cunningham; two daughters, Gay L. Di Marco (Allen) of Allenwood and Karin L. Kearns (Scott) of Enola; a sister, Janet L. Cunningham of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Abrahm, Trent, Shannon, Kirk and Justin; four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be at a later date in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
