Levi Troup, 99, formerly of New Cumberland, PA, died at home on Thursday, January 30, 2020, surrounded by family in Lewes, DE. Son of the late Merle and Sadie (Christ) Troup, he was born in Fairview Township, PA.
Born and raised in Northern York County where he resided the majority of his life, Levi proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII as part of Company E, 33rd Armored Regiment, and went on to work and retire from the former Bethlehem Steel Company, Steelton, PA. He was a member of Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland, and was a well respected member of the congregation. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and relished in using those skills to build and remodel things for his family and friends. He had a tool for everything. He was also fond of traveling and did several car trips to the west coast and Florida. Levi’s wonderful personality and humor will be missed by many.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Barry L and Karen A Troup of Lewes, DE; four grandchildren, Sheri McMichael, Melissa Vaccaro, Alan Troup, and Kevin Troup; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Levi was preceded in death by his wife Anna M (Shaffer) Troup; a daughter, Donna M Turner; a grandson, Steven J Turner; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca R Troup; three brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland, PA. A visitation will take place at the Church beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
