Linn S. Lightner

Linn S. Lightner, 79, of Camp Hill died Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Plymouth, MI while visiting with his daughter. He passed away from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while taking a walk.
He attended Marysville Schools and graduated from Susquenita High School. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering from Penn State University and was a registered professional engineer. He served two tours of duty with the US Army and was discharged with the rank of Captain. He was retired from the former AMP, Inc where he worked for nearly 36 years, holding various engineering and management positions.
He was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church, PA Pump Primers (antique fire truck enthusiasts) and the related national organization (SPAAMFAA), The PA National Fire Museum, Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Model T Ford Club International. He was also a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and a member and past master of Lowther Manor Masonic Lodge of Camp Hill. He played in the 1947 & 1948 Little League World Series and continues to meet with his teammates twice a month. In addition to antique fire trucks, his interests included spending time at his beach home in Rehoboth Beach, DE, antique toy collecting, visiting his daughters, and reading extensively.
He was born August 10, 1935 in Marysville to the late Linn C. and Mary (Deckard) Lightner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Andrea (Daum) Lightner and sisters, MaryLou Harding and Jessica Booz.
He is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Foundoulis (Mike) of Laguna Hills, CA, Jennifer Serfas (Mark) of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Allison Phillips (Andy) of Plymouth, MI; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Haley, Matt, Natalie, Ryan, Tyler, and Olivia; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Daum.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 20th from 9:30am until Memorial Services at 11am at Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
