Louis C. Adams, Jr., 86, of Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, died Friday, November 25, 2016,
at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp., with his loved one, Jacquelyn C. Nagg, at his side.
Born on June 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Louis C. and Gladys M. (Heicher) Adams of Harrisburg, PA and predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Angeline (Winczewski) Adams of San Diego, California.
During his tenure at John Harris High School, he served as a Reserve for the U. S. Marines from
June 1947 to September 1948. In October 1948 he joined the U. S. Navy and was on active duty
until October 1952, completing his service as Chief Petty Officer.
Lou remained in San Diego working at Consolidated Aircraft Experimental Department from 1952 to
1954. Returning to Harrisburg, he worked at Middletown Air Depot in Instrument Repair until 1965.
From 1965 until 1967, he completed an ADP Internship at Letterkenny Army Depot. He continued
his Department of Defense career at Letterkenny as a Systems Analyst (Major Item Data Agency)
until 1981 when he was promoted to Supervisor, System Design Branch, supervising a staff of 38.
In June 2000, he completed his career with a Service Commendation for 50 years of service, missing
only 3 days of work during that time.
Lou was deeply devoted to his faith as a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg; member of the Nittany Lion Club and generous benefactor to the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Department; member of the American Legion Post #272, Linglestown. He was also an active member of the Central Penn Fitness Club.
He was an avid collector of Hummel figures, beer cans, Penn State memorabilia, Swarovski crystal
figurines, and other items. He was a huge sports fan, rooting for Penn State, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Phillies, Hershey Bears, and the Philadelphia Eagles (when they weren’t playing the Steelers). Lou loved to travel, especially internationally and had been to Europe many times during his career and for pleasure. An extremely outgoing person, he thoroughly enjoyed his friends and his “adopted” family. Lou was exceptionally generous, kind and loving. He will always be fondly remembered as “one of the good ones”.
Lou is survived by his dear friend and partner of 10 years, Jacquelyn C. Nagg, and her children, Gary and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Lyla of Waxahachie, Texas; Kristin and her husband Edwin Carlin of Downingtown, PA and many other extended family members.

Helwig as celebrant, followed by burial at 1:00 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
