Louis E. Smith

Louis E. Smith, 89, of Lemoyne, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 in Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp.
He was a retired Administrative Assistant to the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections, Commonwealth of PA and a WWII U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne; Lowther Manor Lodge 781, F&AM, Camp Hill; Harrisburg Consistory, AAONMS; Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg and its Luncheon Club; Cumberland County Shrine Club; American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg; and PARSE, Central PA.
Lou was born in Dalton, Lackawanna County, PA to the late Louis S. and Margaret M. (Parkton) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two wives, Betty Graves Smith and H. Christine Smith; a stepson Edward Hartzell; two brothers, Harold and Robert Smith; and a step sister Bernice Seamans.
Lou is survived by a daughter in law Linda Gould of Macungie, PA; a sister Mildred Hart of Drexel Hill, PA; step granddaughters, Lisa Listwa and Robyn Davis; a step great granddaughter Abigail Listwa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 am in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Frank W. Bergstrom officiating. Viewing will be from 10-10:45 am Saturday in the funeral home with a Masonic service at 10:45 followed by the funeral service at 11. Burial with military honors will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery.
