Louis M. Vittor

Louis M. Vittor, 77, of New Cumberland passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 in his residence with his loving family at his side.

He was a retired PA State Trooper and subsequently worked for the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Department, Harrisburg and Members First Federal Credit Union where he oversaw fraud and security.  Lou was a Marine Corps veteran attaining the rank of Sargeant while serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.  He was a graduate of the former Taylor Moosic High School, Taylor, PA and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL where he earned his commercial pilot’s license.

Lou was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and its Knights of Columbus Council 8921; Bishop J.W. Shanahan Assembly of the 4^th Degree; F.O.P Keystone Lodge 41; and the Notre Dame Club of Gettysburg.  He was a Boy Scout leader with St. Theresa Troop 192, New Cumberland for years as his son participated and enjoyed playing the bag pipes.

Lou was born in Scranton, PA, the son of the late Arthur and Betty Vittor.

He is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Ann Marie (Kaminski) Vittor; his son Christopher P. Vittor and wife Brittany of Mechanicsburg; his grandson Noah Vittor; and two cousins, Marlo Matrazzo of Titusville, FL and Norman Vittori of Old Forge, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 14, 2023 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. Matthew Cannon as Celebrant.  Viewings will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday evening with a Scripture Service at 6:45 and again from 9:30 – 10 am Thursday morning, both in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.  Burial with military honors will be at 12:30 pm Thursday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
