Lurena Jean Phillips, 79 of Camp Hill, PA passed away on August 10, 2024. A vibrant soul born on November 26, 1944, in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Lawrence and Mary Pechart. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Lurena's impact on all who knew her was immeasurable.
Lurena was known for her love of Bingo, being a devoted Redskins fan, and her faith as a member of Capital Area Seventh Day Adventist in Mechanicsburg. She relished in simple pleasures like coffee, cookouts, and family gatherings, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones.
Lurena is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jerry Phillips; three daughters, Saundra Oplanel, Nancy Click, and Bonnie Mills; a son (grandson), Justin Bretz; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Margaret Mackey, Brenda Nye, Michael Pechart, and Lawrence Pechart. Lurena was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a son, John Bretz, IV; a great-grandson, Ja'won Germany; two sisters, Judy Miller and Ruth Ann Moore and two brothers, Charles Pechart, Kenneth Pechart.
A celebration of Lurena's life will take place at the Parthemore Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2024. The public visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
