Marcos Ferrol Cabal-Banzali

Marcos Ferrol Cabal-Banzali, 56, of New Cumberland, passed away on February 17, 2024. He was the second child of four, and the second son born in Bolinao, Philippines on September 26,1967 to Fely Ferrol Banzali and the late Virgilio Cabal.

 In 1984 he moved to Philadelphia where he briefly spent his adolescent years. He was always itching to be on the move from one place to another. He obtained a CNA certification and later started his own company in New Cumberland, Benevolent Heart Assisted Living.

Marcos lived a life of adventure, curiosity, and humor. He enjoyed taking his family on spontaneous trips whether it be out of town or to local happenings. Movie nights, solving puzzles, and spirited games were cherished pastimes he shared with his loved ones - usually what he liked to do when the family came together. Plus, he never let us win – we only raise winners here.

Marcos’ talent for art and music inspired those around him, especially his children. He enjoyed playing his guitar and making sketches on any piece of paper he found. He was a great cook as well, though his children may not have inherited his cooking skills. He was an artist, a comedian – he was known as “joker” amongst friends and family – and most importantly, he was a devoted father. 

He leaves behind his children, Maricar Banzali, Mark Gerald Banzali, Virgil Elmer Cabal and Dominique Cabal; mother, Fely Ferrol Banzali; siblings, Wilfredo Banzali, Eloisa Cabal-Dumornay and Virgilio Cabal Jr.; and longtime companion, Jocelyn. Marcos was preceded in death by his father, Virgilio Cabal.

A mass will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:30am at Christ Our Light: A Catholic Community, 402 N. Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. A public viewing will take place from 10am until mass begins in the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any contributions be made to the funeral home to help offset Marcos’s funeral expenses.
