Marcus Elias Sanford, II, 39, of New Cumberland, journeyed on peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, September
28, 2017 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was born on August 17, 1978 in East Pennsboro Twp. to Dr. Robert and Catherine (Huesz) Sanford. In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancé Christina L. Rock; and two brothers, Dwight W. Sanford of Camp Hill and Todd E. Sanford of Mechanicsburg. He will be missed by his many cousins, family and friends.

Marcus was a Horticulturist with Hershey Gardens; a graduate of both Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill and Dickinson College, Carlisle and attended Penn State where he earned his GIS certification. Marcus was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, skiing, four wheeling, tennis, soccer, gardening, and tubing on the Yellow Breeches Creek. For Marcus, the best parts of these activities were the camaraderie of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Hummel Ave. Lemoyne, PA 17043. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 am until 11:30 am in the church. Burial services will be held at Shehawken Methodist Church, Starrucca, PA at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
