Margaret Jane Dunlap ("Aunt Margie"), age ninety, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away peacefully in Bath, NY, on December 14, 2015. Born in Shippensburg, PA, she was the daughter of James M. and Ezzie Woods Dunlap. She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, William Woods Dunlap, and a sister, Jean Hays Dunlap.
Surviving is a nephew, James M. Dunlap and wife Marilyn, who have three daughters and four grandchildren. Also surviving, is a niece, Sharon A. Congdon and husband Gary, who have two children and three grandchildren.
Margaret was a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, where she remained an active member for over fifty years. She and her sister were involved in Sunday School, the Communion Committee, coordinator of the Home Department, as well as, keeper of historical church records. She was a member of the Mechanicsburg-West Shore AARP, National Republican Party and the PP and L Livewires. Also, for over sixty years she was an active member of the Cumberland County Chapter of DAR.
Margaret retired from Pennsylvania Power and Light Company with thirty-seven years of service. She also retired from the former Dauphin Deposit and Trust Company with nine years of service.
A Committal Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015, at 2:00pm, at the Westminster Cemetery in Carlisle, PA. A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret's life will be held January 9, 2016, at the Pine Street Presbyterian Church, 310 N. Third Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101, at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be sent to Margaret's church.
She loved her family and was so interested in each and every one of their lives.
