Margaret R. Hemmis, 76, of Enola, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. She was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Karmony) Good, born on June 3, 1945 in Good Sam Hospital, Lebanon.
Peggy was a graduate of ELCO. She met her husband Joe, who lived in Enola. Peggy worked as a bookkeeper for most of her career. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Enola, and she enjoyed the simple things in life: animals, the beach, and her family. She and Joe always had a dog, and recently, she was able to convince him to get a cat. The ocean was a special place for Peggy; she loved searching for sand dollars and unique shells on the beach. Peggy loved having her family over for home-cooked meals. She will be deeply missed by her husband and family.
Surviving Peggy is her husband of 51 years, Joseph H. Hemmis; children, Scott D. Wilson, Winifred “Lynne” Yonker, Jonsie Akers, and Lisa J. Dible (Joel); ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jason Good. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Good.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Enola. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Peggy’s name to: ASPCA (www.ASPCA.org), or Shriners Hospitals for Children (www.ShrinersHospitalsforChildren.org).
