Margaret E. "Peg" Warmkessel

Margaret E. (Peg) Warmkessel, 95, of Homeland Center, Harrisburg, formerly of New Cumberland and Shiremanstown, died Wednesday, October 16th at Homeland Center. 

She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland and worked for many years in the savings department at Harris Savings and Loan Association before retiring in 1991. Previously she had worked as a stenographer at Kurtz & Dowd, Inc. in Reading, Pa. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.

She was born February 6, 1929, in Reading to the late Irvin and Dorothy (Keller) Eshbach and graduated from Reading High School in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Warmkessel; and siblings, Edith Salisbury and Kenneth and Eugene Eshbach.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Warmkessel (Wheelock Winspear) of Parkton, MD and Lois Gaul (Timothy) of Mechanicsburg; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicole, Katie, and Kaylee Gaul; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:15 am Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 530 Bridge St., New Cumberland followed by funeral services at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church or Homeland Center, Attn: Development Office, 1901 N. Fifth St., Harrisburg, PA 17102.
