She was a tireless, hardworking, and fiercely independent woman with a quick wit and heart of gold. A loving mother and homemaker who was widowed at the early age of 36, Marianne raised and cared for her four children on her own while still finding time to be a surrogate mother to many of their friends. She took great pride in maintaining beautiful fingernails and enjoyed the frequent comments from friends and family. Marianne treasured her precious time with family and Skyping her grandson James who lives in Texas. She also enjoyed reading newspapers and traveling with her daughters. She especially enjoyed her yearly trips to the Greenbrier.

Marianne was retired from Rite Aid Corporation in Shiremanstown, PA after 18 years of employment. A longtime member and Christian Mother at the Holy Infant Church in York Haven. She was active within the community as a life member of the VFW, Etters, PA and a supporter of the auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Dewey Humbert; grandson Scott Humbert; brothers Fred and Paul Baranek.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the people that have touched her life, especially to friends Paul and Barb Becilla, special caregivers Judy D. and Judy Y., Nurse Practioner Martha Powers, Dr. Kim Carey, Justin Deskovich and all the “dips” at OSPTA and HealthSouth in Morgantown, and the Amedisys Hospice staff for all the special care and compassion they provided Marianne.
