Marie R. Reynolds

Marie R. Reynolds, 95, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of New Cumberland, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at her home, surrounded by the warm loving support of her family.

Marie was born April 30, 1927 in New Bethlehem, PA. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Clara (Fiscus) Dougherty. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and a sister. In addition to her parents and siblings, Marie was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Thomas Caba and Sara Kimberlee Weidman.

Marie is survived by her husband of more than 72 years, Delmar J. Reynolds, Sr.; children, Julia A. Spong (Richard) of Surprise, AZ, Delmar J. Reynolds (Linda) of Mechanicsburg, Thomas R. Reynolds (Christina) of Surprise, AZ, Diane M. Beiler (Samuel) of New Holland, PA, Mary F. Weidman (Robert) of Akron, PA, Nancy J. Milton (Joseph) of Walla Walla, WA and Ann R. Aughenbaugh (Kirby) of Mechanicsburg; her sister Nancy J. Brocious of Clarion, PA; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was a former auditor with The Harrisburger Hotel and a former sales associate with Pomeroy’s Department Store. She was an active volunteer at St.Theresa’s School and the community, supporting youth activities.

Marie was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish, New Cumberland, for over 70 years. She was active with the Little Flower Club and CCW. Additionally, she served as an Extraordinary Minister, including Visitation Ministry at Holy Spirit Hospital for more than 20 years with over 1,000 hours of service. She was a strong woman of faith who served as an inspiration to many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, March 20, 2023 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. Kyle Sahd as Celebrant. The initial viewing will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary beginning at 5:45 pm. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, 9:30-10:30 am at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial services will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
