Marjorie Ann Mccracken

March 9, 1931 — April 17, 2022

Marjorie Ann McCracken, 91, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 17, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the retired office manager for her late husband’s family dentistry practice, McCracken Family Dentistry, Camp Hill. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg, and will forever be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Marjorie had an impeccable eye for detail, which showed itself in her love for home renovation, collecting antiques, and antique restoration. She spent her life making her house a home that would become the comfortable gathering place for all holidays and family events.

And so, it makes sense that Marjorie was truly happiest when surrounded by her family. Those closest to her know that this was reflected in her hobbies and interests: She loved to cook because it meant family was coming for dinner. She loved to bake because her grandchildren loved tasting her baking.

She did these things because it meant being closer to the ones she loved, and because all she wanted, even in her final days, was to serve her family and friends and make life a little easier for them.

Born in Pittsburgh, Marjorie was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Jones) Emery. In addition to her parents, she was the widow of the late Dr. Byrd W. McCracken and was preceded in death by a brother Robert Emery.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Mark McCracken and wife Cheryl of Mechanicsburg, Becky Davids and husband John of Glen Rock, Dr. Kirk McCracken and wife Dr. Gerry McCracken of Dillsburg and Brock McCracken and wife Tracy of Mechanicsburg. Additionally, she is survived by granddaughters: Kristen (husband Dave) Del Grosso; Kortney (husband Chad) Milligan; Chelsea (fiancée Brent Miller) McCracken ; Kathleen McCracken; Delaney McCracken. Also surviving are grandsons: Connor McCracken; Chaus (wife Lindsay) Davids; Ben (wife Andrea) Davids. Other survivors include seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Marjorie’s memory to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115 Harrisburg, PA 17110-9794.
