Martin R. "Marty" Johnson, Jr.

Martin R. “Marty” Johnson, Jr., 55, of Etters, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.

He was a retired diesel mechanic with Carlos Battastini Trucking, New Cumberland; an avid coin collector; and enjoyed “Road Trips”, especially when the destination was to visit family and friends. Marty became a simple man who loved the little things life had to offer.

Marty was born in Cranston, RI, the son of Glenda Fulmer Johnson of Providence, RI and the late Martin R. Johnston, Sr.

He is survived by his fiancé Verna F. Campbell of Etters; children, Kyle Johnson of NC, Jack Johnson of NC; siblings, Brian Johnson and Cheryl Johnson, both of RI; Verna’s children, Matthew, Rachel, Mandy, Leigh Anne and Anthony, all from PA; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his canine companion “Buddy”.

In his younger years of life, Marty enjoyed life a bit too much and caused broken relationships and hardships. In his later years, he realized this hurt and tried to enjoy all that life had to offer and made the best of it.

A Celebration of Marty’s Life will be held from 5 – 9 pm on Monday, August 8, 2022 at VFW Post 7415, 109 Third St. New Cumberland.
