Mary Alice Holland, 90, of Camp Hill died Sunday, May 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born May 13, 1929 in Schellsburg, PA to the late Robert McCall and Elva Mae (Overly) Taylor. She was the widow of Richard Lawrence Holland.

Valedictorian of her class at Schellsburg Napier High School, she went on to attend Catherman’s Business School in Cumberland, MD. She worked as a secretary at Mercersburg Academy and the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Mary’s memberships included Toastmasters, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, numerous bowling leagues, Esther Circle, and the outreach knitting group at Christ Presbyterian Church. Mary devoted more than 50 years as a Girl Scout volunteer, encouraging girls wherever she lived, and guiding all four daughters to achieve the highest awards in Girl Scouts. She was an avid sports fan with Penn State, Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates being her favorites.

She is survived by four daughters, Carol A. Hodges, LTC (Army Ret.) of Galveston, TX, Linda S. Chapman (Ronald) of Camp Hill, Deborah H. Armentrout (Richard) of Adamstown, MD, and Janice L. Holland, Ph.D. (Craig Snider) of Midway, KY; a brother, Robert Taylor of Latrobe; three sisters, Geraldine Egolf of Schellsburg, Margaret Cowper of Canada, and Jacqueline Brewer of Chambersburg; a grandson, Commander Travis A. Chapman, USN (Brigette);
granddaughter, Kaitlyn T. Worley (Devin); numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Viewing will be from 5-7pm Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.

Funeral Service will be held at 11am Friday at Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery.
