Mary Ann Cebulesky

Mary Ann Cebulesky, 80, of Newville, PA, previously of West Fairview, PA, and Arlington, VA. passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp. 

Mary Ann was born on October 5, 1943, in Newark, NJ, to the late Frank Cebulesky and Elizabeth (Gabriel) Morphy.

She is survived by her sister, Frances Sabatino of Toms River, NJ, nephews, Vincent Sabatino, Jr. (Shawn) of Mooresville, NC, Frank Sabatino (Alison) of Middletown, NJ, and Johnathan Sabatino (Christine) of Round Rock, TX; two great nephews Carter and Luke; and three great nieces Alana, Maya and Blake. 

She was a retired Defense Intelligence Officer with the US Defense Intelligence Agency.

During her exciting career, she held several interesting and significant assignments both in the US and abroad. Some of these positions included Political Analyst for the Strategic Arms Limitation (SALT) Talks, a DIA Representative to US Transportation Command during Desert Storm/Desert Shield, Occupant of the Colin Powell Chair at the National Military Intelligence College, and numerous other specialty assignments.

Mary Ann was the recipient of several awards, including The DIA Meritorious Civilian Service Medal and the Dept. of Army’s Commander’s Award for Civilian Service Medal.

In her spare time, she taught Critical Thinking at the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA., lectured on World Wide Disasters ( a particular interest of hers), and traveled extensively. 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
