Mary E. "Bette" Sieger, 95, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, of Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Middlesex Twp. and formerly of New Cumberland, entered her Heavenly Home peacefully on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 surrounded by her family.
She retired as the Sales Manager and Wedding Consultant for the former Villa Leo, New Cumberland; she was member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; played violin at the former Harrisburg Catholic High School and on the radio; a member of the Harrisburg Symphony Choir; a former Girl Scout and Troop Leader at St. Francis and St. Theresa; past president of the Beta Sigma Phi Business Sorority, the New Cumberland Woman’s Club, St. Theresa Council of Catholic Women and Y’s Menettes of Harrisburg YMCA. Her family was the joy of her life and her interests included dancing, music, cards, cooking, gardening and entertaining family members and friends for dinner
Born on December 11th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Adam A. and Caroline E. (Bleistein) Hollinger and was the widow of Kenneth E. Sieger. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth W. Sieger and a great grandson, Ephraim, a brother, Joseph B. Hollinger and a sister, Anna C. Mahon.
Surviving are three daughters, Jan S. Fisher (Peter) of Harrisburg, Kim E. Bricker (Paul) of Etters, and Cora S. Pinhak (Joseph) of Havertown; two brothers, Robert A. Hollinger of Lewes, DE, and Carl A. Hollinger of Lititz; two sisters, Helen C. Bennett and Marian B. Keane, both of New Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Audrey B. Sieger of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Marjolijn), Seth (Amy), Susannah (Hut), Kenneth (Rachel), Rebecca (Michael), Gabrielle (Justin) and William; five great grandchildren, Summer, Isabella, Sieger, Lily and Ian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland with the Rev. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
Viewing will be held 5 - 7 PM Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
