Mary H. Bauer

Mary H. Bauer, 87, of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Homeland Center, Harrisburg, PA. Born on November 6, 1926. She was the daughter of Dr. Samuel F. Hassler and Minnie R. Hassler of Harrisburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric M. Bauer.
A graduate of William Penn High School, 1944, and Dickinson College, 1948, Beta Beta sorority. Mary was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, PA. She retired from the former Dauphin Deposit Bank & Trust Co. Mary was past president and board member of the New Cumberland Women’s Club, and a member of The Junior League of Harrisburg. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and volunteering at several senior centers.
She is survived by her children; M. Minette Bauer and husband Thomas L. Jeffers, Frances B. McBride and husband Robert L. McBride, Eric W. Bauer, Cynthia B. Petry and husband William S. Petry. Grandchildren; Colin B. Jeffers, Kelly F. McBride, Veronica E. Bauer and Kaitlyn A. Petry; a brother, William McNamara of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at 10 followed by funeral services at 11am Friday at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Cemetery, 13th and Liberty Streets.
