Mary Kate Murray

June 8, 1961 — June 11, 2016

Mary Kate Carlaccini Murray, 55, died Saturday June 11, 2016
in the company of loving friends and family at her Camp
Hill home. Born June 8, 1961 in Natrona Heights, PA, she is
the daughter of the late Angelo B. and Anna Mae (Strellec)
Carlaccini.

Although Kate’s life was cut short by cancer, she lived it
with passion and experienced a full and rewarding one. She
loved athletic challenge, live music and engaging with her
vast network of friends and colleagues. Quick with a smile
and hearty laugh, she lived life with an infectious spirit,
deep affection and a comedic twinkle beloved by all.

Kate was a dedicated, generous, caring, no-nonsense and
fun-loving matriarch who always brought the life to the
party, loved games that included family and friends and was
at the ready with hugs and kisses for everyone.

A loving mom to her sons Joseph and Stephen, she was their
loudest and proudest supporter through their myriad of
sports and academic pursuits. Her selfless love and respect
for life led to mentoring two Harrisburg boys, Michael and
Davion and carried over to her professional career where
she was highly respected in the Pennsylvania automotive
community serving as Regional Manager for the Pennsylvania
Automotive Association.

Kate loved golf. A long time member of The Clubs at
Colonial Ridge, she forged many lasting relationships and
enjoyed golf trips to Hilton Head and The Woods of West
Virginia. She was a board member of the Executive Women’s
Golf Association, Central PA chapter and member of the
United States Golf Association.

She also was a “water baby” swimming all her life and
competitively for Hill Crest Country Club and Highlands
High School. She had a diversity of hobbies and pursuits
from kayaking and gardening to travel and playing with her
pets, Eli, Danny and Garcia. She relished a good back yard
party, tailgates with friends and family and was an avid
supporter of the Steelers, Pirates, Pens and Panthers.

Kate is survived by her close friend Christopher Pirritano,
sons Joseph E. Murray of Hyattsville, MD and Stephen J.
Murray of Camp Hill, three siblings, Suzanne Sorice(Leo) of
Largo FL, James A. Carlaccini of South Burlington VT, and
Thomas A. Carlaccini of San Francisco, CA in addition to
many nieces and nephews.
