Mary T. Brady, 91, of Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg and formerly of Enola and Warminster PA died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Messiah Lifeways.
She was a graduate of Little Flower High School, Philadelphia. In April 1947, she married WWII veteran, James P. Brady III. For many years Mary was known by her nickname "Polly", which she chose at an early age. Mary had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed the mountain views and watching sunsets from their home in Enola. She had a talent for modeling and amateur photography. She loved musicals and should probably have become a professional entertainer, as evidenced by the fact that she would break out into song and dance at the drop of a hat. Mary loved to draw and paint in acrylics. Not only did she fill their home with beautiful landscapes and still paintings, she also painted delicate scenes on Christmas balls that will continue to decorate the trees of family members for years to come. Above all, Mary loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was born June 16, 1925, in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Mary (Devlin) Knipple. She was the widow of James P. Brady, III and also preceded in death by her grandson James.
Mary is survived by three children, James P. (Laurie) of Gettysburg, Susan R. Wyeth (Art) of Levittown, and Terry R. (Pudgy) of New Cumberland; a sister, Gerri Kurchaba (Ben) of Philadelphia; six grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Committal services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, with Father Anthony Eseke, PhD officiating, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
