Mary C. Tenetylo, 85, of Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg, and formerly of Chambers Hill, died Monday, February 10, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Camp Hill.
She was born September 10, in Palmerton, PA, and graduated from Coaldale High School in 1957. Mary married Roman Tenetylo, Jr in August of 1958.
Mary retired from the Pennsylvania Medical Society Liability Insurance Company in 1999. Mary and Roman loved to travel and toured Alaska, Hawaii, and numerous European Countries. They also cruised to Canada with their family for their 50th wedding anniversary. Mary especially enjoyed time with her nine grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards, board games, and water aerobics.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and previously St. Catherine Laboure Church, Harrisburg.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Culley and Mary Borbe (Culley) Negri; step-father, Joseph Negri; and husband Roman Tenetylo, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Robert J. Tenetylo (Cindy) of Medford, NJ, Renai M. Betts (Scott) of Duncannon, James R. Tenetylo (Tracie) of Cape Coral, FL, and Donna L. Nelson (David) of Camp Hill; sisters, Sharon Burkhalter (Almo) of Diamond Bar, CA and Marjorie Bortz of Chambers Hill; grandchildren, David Nelson, Jr., Ashley Nelson, Jessica Sanderson, Sarah Esposito (David), Stephen Lauver (Rachel), Derek Tenetylo, Lauren Tenet, Brooke Tenet, Drew Tenet; and great-grandson, Levi Sanderson.
Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30am Monday, February 17th at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Committal services will be held at 12:30pm Wednesday, February 19th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
