Matilda J. Palombi

Matilda J. Palombi, March 11,1922 - March 18, 2021, just recently celebrated her 99th birthday.

Formerly of Bloomsburg, Pa. Matilda came to Camp Hill 47 years ago. Resided at Country Meadows, over a year and passed away at VibraLife.

She was a former secretary for St. Columbus Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. She worked for the PA Railroad during World War II. She was a devoted member to Good Shepard Catholic Church, Camp Hill where she was active as an Arimathean. Matilda was a loving wife and mother and avid baker. She always enjoyed meeting new people and made new friends wherever she went. She enjoyed her neighbors and participated in monthly neighborhood dinners.

Matilda was born in New Brunswick, N.J. The daughter of the late George Rocco Figlo and Margaret (Dilk) Figlo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis J. Palombi, her son Christopher L. Palombi, her grandson James Yohey and six siblings, Josephine Gill, Rocco George Figlo, Marion Tenerelli, Clara Shiffner, Mary O’Brien and Nick Figlo.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her three daughters, Lois P. Taylor (Gregg) of Camp Hill, Janice A. Kelly of Drums, Pa. and Virginia P. Young (Timothy) of Carbondale, Co.; sister Norma Braun of Wildwood Crest, N.J.; ten grandchildren Sean Kelly (Kelli), Kristin Doran (Joseph), Megan Mitchell (Thomas), Andrew Palombi (Ursula), Dana Marcus (Dan), Cara Palombi, Damian Palombi, Matthew Taylor (Ryan), Alyssa Taylor and C. Wyatt Young. Matilda also adored her seven great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Monday, March 22, 2021at Good Shepard Church 3435 Trindle Road Camp Hill, Pa. 17011. Visitation will be from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. Monday in the Church.

Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg, Pa. at a later date.
